History

Concours (pronounced “Con Coors”) refers to a show or contest of vehicles judged chiefly on excellence of appearance.  These contests are referred to as a Concours d’Elegance.

Since its inception in 1981, Concours Collision Centres has grown from a single location to 4 state of the art collision repair centres totaling over 65,000 square feet.

The first location began with one employee and operated out of premises totaling 3,000 square feet.  By 1985, the business had steadily grown so the founder moved his staff to an 8,000 square foot facility.  In 1990, the company relocated to its present 30,000 square foot building in the southeast of Calgary.

In 2001, our second location opened in the northwest quadrant of Calgary.  Concours Crowfoot has now grown to over 18,000 square feet.

In May 2012 we opened our Royal Oak facility.  The Royal Oak facility was designed according to innovative production techniques based on Lean Manufacturing principles.

In May 2016 we opened our 4th location in the South Trail auto mall in south east Calgary. The South Trail facility was also designed according to innovative production techniques based on Lean Manufacturing principles.

Since 1981, Concours was involved in the Automotive Service and Repair Association of Alberta (ASRA). Concours founder served as president of the ASRA from 1995 to 1997.  The founder was also instrumental in the development and implementation of the current apprenticeship training program in Alberta.
